| Jack Ogorchock, founder, returned to his home town of Brookville from military service and started a one truck operation, hauling coal, lumber and anything else that needed hauling. In 1949, Jack expanded the trucking business into Brookville Building Supplies and Ready Mix Concrete, with a small concrete plant and three trucks. 1952 saw the move to DuBois, Pa and the renaming of the company to incorporate both locations, thus DuBrook was born. A concrete plant was set up and began production with a fleet of four trucks. Seeing opportunities elsewhere, Jack opened another plant and supply store in Butler, Pa in 1958. At one point, there were three satellite plants as well in the Butler area. DuBrook operated in Spring, Texas from 1976 to 1985. Equipment was moved from Texas to Chantilly, VA in 1987. Further expansion to Chesapeake, VA with a precast operation happened in 1993. Jack retired in 1993, and the second generation of Ogorchocks took over the controls of DuBrook. In 1994, the purchase of Thomson and Montgomery of St Marys was negotiated. Today, DuBrook, Inc. operates four plants in Pennsylvania: DuBois, Butler, Evans City and St Marys. Rosemary Ogorchock Barber, Jack's daughter, is the owner and president. Her three brothers all operate separate concrete related companies in Virginia and Texas. Jack keeps busy with his real estate business, Green Dot, and keeping up to date on the construction industry. View related family businesses. |
